The Knowledge Program at Baptist Health Louisville provides funding for students majoring in:
- RN Nursing (BSN only)
General information
The program provides:
- Up to $5,000 per year for traditional students
- Up to $15,000 for accelerated students
- First RN degree only
- Nursing educational assistance is figured based on tuition
- Distributions are made every six months
- Current and non-current employees are eligible for assistance
- For every $2,500 given in assistance, a six-month commitment of employment as a full-time employee is required upon graduation
- Due to IRS rules and regulations, there is a tax liability to the individual when a loan is “forgiven” under this agreement. Loan monies provided to the recipient are taxed through regular payroll processing when they begin work as a Registered Nurse.
- This program is based upon availability of funds and is subject to review on a regular basis. This program can be discontinued at any time.
Application criteria
The following criteria must be completed for consideration in the Baptist Health Knowledge Program:
- Application deadline: October 12, 2018
- Completion of the online application through the career portal
- All students must complete all pre-requisites and be accepted into a Bachelors of Science in Nursing program of study to apply
- An acceptance letter must be provided unless actively enrolled in upper-division courses
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Official transcript must be submitted
- Two letters of reference (one from a classroom or clinical instructor and one from an employer).
- Statement of why you are pursuing a healthcare career and why you need assistance
- Internal candidates must be in good standing regarding performance and attendance
