The Cardiac Care and Stroke Program at Baptist Health La Grange
Baptist Health La Grange has a team of cardiologists and neurologists on staff to provide patients with expert care. The hospital has a busy Emergency Department, with 11 treatment rooms, and treats more than 15,000 patients annually. In 2014, the hospital created a new Cardiac Center that features diagnostic capabilities, including stress testing, EKG, Holter monitoring and echocardiogram. With its partnership with Oldham County EMS, the hospital’s measures for treating STEMI patients received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS Gold Award. The accredited Cardiac Rehab program makes it easier for local patients who suffer a cardiac episode to have more convenient access to a fully equipped, medically supervised rehab facility.
The hospital is certified as an advanced Primary Stroke Center from the Joint Commission. To support the accurate diagnosis of heart attack and stroke patients, the facility offers a full range of diagnostic imaging services, including nuclear medicine, CT and MRI. In 2016, the program received the Get with the Guidelines – Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association.
As a part of the Kentuckiana region, the hospital works closely with its sister hospital, Baptist Health Louisville, to safely and quickly transfer heart attack and stroke patients for additional treatment.
