The BMX Park at “Tom” Sawyer

We partnered with local organizations such as the Louisville Sports Commission to help rebuild the bicycle motocross (BMX) facility at “Tom” Sawyer. Built in the early 1980s, the park has long been a part of our community’s BMX scene, but it was in desperate need of repairs and upgrades.

After a nearly 3-year renovation project, the park has become a favorite among BMX racers and gained a national reputation. In fact, the BMX community enjoys the new track so much that “Tom” Sawyer has been asked to host USA BMX’s annual national competition, the BMX Derby City Nationals, every year through 2025. Baptist Health’s physicians and athletic trainers also provide medical support for this event. Find out more about the BMX Park at “Tom” Sawyer.
