Volunteer Opportunities at Baptist Health Paducah
Since its beginning in 1953, Baptist Health Paducah's Auxiliary has played a major role in providing hospitality services to patients and families and raising funds for the purchase of equipment and educational materials.
Current membership consists of more than 40 individuals who have a broad base of experience and represent a variety of age groups. Members contribute some 15,000 volunteer hours to the hospital every year. Many members see the Auxiliary as a way to add fulfillment to their lives. Our volunteers make a difference by providing all the little extras our patients have come to appreciate.
The auxiliary's primary purpose is to assist hospital personnel, patients and visitors. Volunteers work in more than 9 different areas of Baptist Health Paducah, including Main Entrance, Larry Barton Entrance, Digestive Health Center, Heart Center, Cancer Center, Baptist Imaging Center, NICU, 3A Nurses Station, and the Gift Shop. In addition, the auxiliary operates the gift shop and sponsors LIFELINE, a residential emergency response system.
The Auxiliary also raises money to purchase equipment, educational materials, Bibles for babies and scholarships. Funds are raised through gift shop operations, book sales, bake sales, an annual quilt show and other events. Through their fundraising efforts, the Auxiliary has been involved with every new addition to Baptist Health Paducah.
