Here at Baptist La Grange, we encourage vaginal births for multiple reasons.

One, the health of the mother.

It's safer than having a C-section.

Traditionally it's less blood loss, it's an easier recovery and it's more natural.

We do inductions for maternal or fetal reasons.

Maternal reasons would be like high blood pressure, uncontrolled gestational diabetes,

uncontrolled blood pressures.

We do for fetal reasons if baby was measuring small or a growth restriction if there is no fluid.

And we also do molecularly between 39 and 40 weeks based on your cervix and your Bishop score.

I think because we get to know our patients, we deliver about 30 to 40 babies a month.

I think we know all our patients because we see them.

Our nurses, of course, are proactive and really good here.

We get to meet you here.

We get to start the induction here.

You get to know your doctor.

We are a five-person practice.

One of us covers each day and we have a different doctor on at night.

You get to know the provider that delivers you, which I think is a big deal for a female.

You need to know the doctor that's going to deliver your baby.

And then we take into account your needs and the goal, of course, to have an efficient delivery in a

safe manner, and a healthy mommy, healthy baby.

Because it's a big deal in a woman's lifetime to have a baby, especially when you feel safe and secure.

I feel like we offer that here. This is why I'm a gynecologist.

This is why I'm an obstetrician.
