Baptist Health Paducah to host Go Red for Women Luncheon featuring heart attack survivor and ER physician Dr. Allison Rains

January 09, 2025

[PADUCAH, KY] Jan. 7, 2025 – In recognition of American Heart Month, Baptist Health Paducah invites the community to a special Go Red for Women luncheon on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walker Hall Event Center, 229 Madison Street, Paducah, KY 42001.

This free event will feature Baptist Health Paducah emergency room physician, Allison Rains, MD, and her husband, Martin Rains, MD, an interventional cardiologist with Baptist Health Medical Group Cardiology. Dr. Allison Rains will share her personal journey of surviving a heart attack last October. Attendees will gain valuable insights as Dr. Rains recounts the symptoms she experienced, the life-saving actions she took, and the critical lessons we can all apply to recognize and respond to heart emergencies. Dr. Martin Rains will also share his firsthand experience of recognizing and responding to his wife’s cardiac arrest. He will highlight the unique signs and symptoms of a heart attack in women and will offer essential heart health strategies.

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death among women, making education and awareness vital. “This luncheon is an opportunity to empower women and the community to prioritize heart health and recognize the signs of a heart attack,” said Laura Grumley, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Baptist Health Paducah.

A complimentary lunch will be provided, but registration is required to attend. Reserve your spot today by scanning the QR code on the event flyer or clicking here: Go Red for Women February 7, 2025.
