(Sellersburg, Ind.) March 7, 2025  In partnership with Ivy Tech Community College Sellersburg, Baptist Health and Intuitive Health have announced the development of a new, approximately $40 million combination full-service emergency room and urgent care facility on the Ivy Tech campus.

Baptist Health and Intuitive Health opened the first Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care in August 2022 at 3516 E. 10th St. in Jeffersonville. The Sellersburg location will be Baptist Health’s fourth in the area when completed. Besides Jeffersonville, there is a combination emergency room and urgent care at 11701 Blankenbaker Pkwy. in Louisville and another will open this summer at 7702 Bardstown Road.

Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care will enhance access for southern Indiana residents while providing advanced education and training opportunities for Ivy Tech nursing and health sciences students.

Strategically located for convenience and visibility from Indiana Interstate 65, the new facility is designed to address the growing healthcare needs of the region – including a large primary care clinic for Baptist Health Medical Group providers modeled after the health system’s current facility on Blankenbaker Parkway.

The Sellersburg facility will also include outpatient imaging capabilities, enabling patients to access computed tomography (CT) scans, ultrasounds and other imaging services that ultimately support better health outcomes. The Sellersburg location will be the first combined emergency room and urgent care facility in the Baptist Health system to offer these outpatient services.

“Baptist Health is honored and excited to bring another combined emergency room and urgent care to southern Indiana. Our current facilities in Jeffersonville and in Louisville have proven the advantage to have a facility that provides excellent and efficient patient care at a lower cost that can eliminate the stress of having to choose between an emergency room and urgent care,” said Baptist Health Floyd President Mike Schroyer. “We are also excited about our continued partnerships with Intuitive and Ivy Tech in placing this new facility in Sellersburg next to the Ivy Tech campus. This new facility will include a second floor where Baptist Health Medical Group will house primary care physician clinics, and it will also have expanded imaging capability in a separate part of the building to provide outpatient imaging for patients. This facility will help us to provide needed services to Sellersburg, northern Floyd, northern Clark, Washington, and Scott counties.”

In addition to comprehensive healthcare services, the facility will provide on-campus clinical training opportunities for Ivy Tech nursing and health sciences students, fostering hands-on learning experiences for students in a real-world healthcare setting. The inclusion of outpatient imaging services will enable Ivy Tech to offer a new medical imaging program.

“This new facility is a tremendous step forward in aligning education and healthcare for the benefit of our students, community, and local workforce. By expanding clinical sites and offering cutting-edge imaging capabilities, we are enhancing the practical learning environment for our healthcare programs,” said Dr. Travis Haire, chancellor, Ivy Tech Sellersburg. “This partnership underscores our commitment to meeting regional healthcare needs while preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals with the skills required for success.”
