Urologist, Mohammad J. Iqbal, MD, to retire after 50 years
ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (Nov. 25, 2024) – Mohammad J. Iqbal, MD, Baptist Health Medical Group Urology, will retire on Dec. 31. He has been a member of the Baptist Health Hardin medical staff since 2012 and has been practicing medicine for 50 years.
“During my 50-year career, every day has been a learning experience and I have loved every moment of it,” said Mohammad Iqbal, MD.
Board certified in general surgery and urology; he is a member of the American Urological Association. Dr. Iqbal was the first urologist to start a practice in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
He earned a medical degree in 1967 from Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan, and completed a residency in general surgery and orthopedics at Burton on Trent Hospital in Burton, England. Dr. Iqbal continued his training with a general surgery residency at Pontiac Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, and a urology residency at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada.
He received extensive postgraduate training in a variety of urological procedures using laser therapy, minimally invasive and noninvasive surgical methods, as well as implants and injections.
Patients and practice staff describe Dr. Iqbal as “a caring provider with a wealth of knowledge, both in and out of his specialty field,” and “a pillar of the community [who] will be incredibly missed once he retires.”
Due to his retirement, Baptist Health Medical Group Urology on Woodland Drive will be closing. The last day for patient appointments is Dec. 20, 2024.
