Mental Health First Aid teaches about mental illness, substance use disorders
ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (Sept. 4, 2024) – Nearly one in five people in the United States lives with a mental illness. Learn more about mental illness by taking a virtual course on Mental Health First Aid. This free course will be held Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance abuse disorders so that these individuals can be connected to appropriate care.
The course is ideal for employers, police officers, healthcare workers, first responders, faith leaders - and anyone who wants to learn more about mental health.
