A Midsummer Nights Run 2016 Draws 4000 Downtown
Approximately 4,000 people participated in A Midsummer Night's Run 2016 events held August 13 in downtown Lexington.
LEXINGTON, KY. (Aug. 15, 2016): – Approximately 4,000 people participated in A Midsummer Night’s Run 2016 events held August 13 in downtown Lexington.
Twenty-five-year-old Joseph Mullen of Berea took top honors in the 5K, finishing in 15:18. Michaela Reinhart, 16, of Georgetown, was the overall female winner again, repeating her winning performance of 2015. Reinhart bested her 2015 winning time, 18:42, by coming in at 18:26 this year. The remaining 5K top 10 male and female finishers were:

The top spot in the One-Mile Fun Walk/Run went to Turlough McEntee, 13, of Paris, who finished at with a time of 7:05, just 18 seconds faster than his older brother, Tadhg McEntee, 15, also of Paris. The younger McEntee also took the fastest 12-year-old honors in the 2015 Fastest Kid in Town competition.
Emily Krintz, 12, of Wilmore was the top female in the one-mile event again, topping her winning 2015 time of 7:50 by running this year’s race in 7:21. The remaining One-Mile Fun Walk/Run top 10 male and female finishers were:

Twelve-year-old Xavier Brown of Lexington took the Fastest Kid in Town title for the second year in a row. The Fastest Girl in Town honor went to Ayanna Darrington, 10, of Lexington. Approximately 350 children competed in the annual competition, which features a series of sprints for children ages 3-12. Age-group winners in the competition were:

4-year-olds: Girl – Jasmine Knox; Boy – Wade Cook
5-year-olds: Girl – Chloe Redden; Boy – Matt Schlarman

7-year-olds: Girl – Raehana Matcheswala; Boy – Michael Smith
8-year-olds: Girl – Josephine Pereslucka; Boy – Mitchell McNeil
