The nation’s largest reveal party of a new line of Vera Bradley healthcare apparel will take place at the Larry Barton Atrium, Baptist Health Paducah, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3. The public is invited to this free event co-hosted by Uniform Headquarters and the hospital.
Employees from Baptist Health and other healthcare facilities will model the new apparel during a fashion show.
The fashion show is a kickoff for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is observed nationally each October. Cancer survivors will be photographed for a social media campaign in October. Baptist Health Paducah breast nurse navigator Terri Walters, RN, will speak about her recent breast cancer diagnosis and the importance of annual mammograms.
The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer has raised $28.1 million to support critical advancements in breast cancer research. Vera Bradley co-founders Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia R. Miller began raising funds for breast cancer research in 1993 after the loss of their dear friend, Mary Sloan.
“We are honored to host this fun evening with Uniform Headquarters that will also shine a light on breast cancer,” said Catherine Sivills, regional marketing director for Baptist Health Paducah. “Every year we try to come up with unique ways to celebrate breast cancer survivors, but the main message is to remind women to talk to their doctors about when to schedule their mammograms. Self-exams and mammograms save lives.”
The event will include food, prizes and merchandise available for purchase. A portion of all proceeds will benefit the Baptist Health Paducah Your Fight Fund, which supports local cancer patients.
