The Baptist Health Hardin Pediatric Unit provides child and family-focused care in a youth-oriented atmosphere. Pediatric staff understands the unique needs of infants, children and adolescents. The unit offers a wide array of healthcare services to care for children and youth during their medical or surgical stay in the hospital.
The PCU provides an intermediate level of care to adult and geriatric patients. It is often used as a step-down unit for patients who have spent time in the Intensive Care Unit (SICU or CICU). Nursing staff specialize in stroke and cardiac care.
Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
The CICU specializes in cardiac care for adult and geriatric patients with heart-related issues.
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
The SICU provides a high level of care to patients following surgery and medical needs.
Baptist Health Hardin’s Critical Care Units provide the following services for patients and more:
- Arrhythmia detection and management
- Cardiac monitoring
- Continuous telemetry monitoring
- Initiation and management of specialized drug therapy
- Invasive procedures (Swan Ganz, temporary pacemakers, etc.)
- Non-invasive continuous blood pressure monitoring
- Pulse oximetry monitoring
- Therapeutic hypothermia
- Ventilator management
- Specialized continuous dialysis therapy
Patients at Baptist Health Hardin have access to dialysis thru the contracted service with Fresenius Kidney Care. For patients admitted to the hospital with chronic kidney disease, dialysis is a procedure that mimics kidney function and helps balance the body’s needs.
The Nursing Facility of Baptist Health Hardin cares for patients who do not require an acute hospital setting but are unable to remain at home due to medical or physical needs.
The goal of the Nursing Facility is to help patients regain skills lost as a result of illness or accident.

Specially-trained orthopedic surgeons, nurses, and therapists at the Baptist Health Hardin Total Joint Center provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. The ultimate goal is to return patients to a healthy lifestyle.
The Total Joint Center features newly renovated private rooms, individualized occupational therapy services, group physical therapy, and pre-operative education classes to ensure a streamlined and coordinated hospital stay.
