Scott Deyo, MSSW, CSW, Behavioral Health:
At Baptist Health Richmond, we offer a chemical dependency intensive outpatient program. This is a group that meets to offer support and guidance for those who are in active addiction, working on their journey to recovery.
[The] intensive outpatient [program] includes tools such as coping skills, resources, family education, and generally talking about recovery and what that brings with it. We’re a group that’s going to process through those and offer support and guidance to both you and your family. One service that we’re very excited about is the addition of peer support. Our peer support specialist is going to be somebody who has experience with addiction and with a lot of the struggles and issues that somebody in active addiction may face. They have firsthand experience. They are there to talk with you about what coping skills have worked for them and what’s been helpful for them in their recovery. It’s a peer, an ally, to be additional support to help you along through your journey to recovery.
At Baptist Health Richmond, we believe in providing compassionate, integrated treatment for individuals in recovery. We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. Our team is here to meet you where you’re at. If you are ready for your journey to recovery, just let us know. We’re here to support you along the way.
