The common causes for heart failure
is the ischemic heart disease,

which is coronary artery disease,
where patient has blockages and

have heart attacks.

Then, other causes would be what
we call non-ischemic causes,

which would be due to hypertension,
diabetes, valvular disease,

arrhythmias of the heart,
infiltrative disorders

like amyloidosis and sarcoidosis.

But these are the common
causes for heart failure.

These are some of the things you can
do when you have the heart failure.

Your physician is going to be
placing you on some medications,

so you'd take all those medications
as prescribed in a timely manner.

Follow the instructions by the
physician with regards to the diet.

That is very important,
because the salt in the diet

is as important as anything else that
could lead you up to heart failure.

Try to quit smoking if you are a smoker.

Try to make sure that you control your
blood pressure, because uncontrolled

blood pressures can make
the heart failure worse.

Control your blood sugar,
because uncontrolled diabetes can

make it worse.

Those are some of the things that
would help to lead a healthy lifestyle

even though you have heart failure.

Treating the heart failure patients and
having this clinic, the goal is to improve

their quality of life,
improve their longevity overall,

make them feel better and be more
productive, and just in general,

improve their well-being.
