Baptist Health Virtual Care Launches New Feature: The eVisit for Non-urgent Medical Conditions
Baptist Health Virtual Care, accessible through MyChart, the secure patient portal which lets you manage your health 24/7 via a smartphone, tablet, or computer, earlier this year launched Video Visit capabilities. Through a Video Visit, individuals can schedule same-day appointments for nonurgent health conditions, connecting with a Baptist Health provider through face-to-face communication via your mobile device, tablet, or computer with a webcam. The provider can diagnose, prepare a treatment plan, and request prescriptions in a matter of minutes.
The newest feature with Baptist Health Virtual Care is eVisits. Through an eVisit, individuals can still connect with a Baptist Health provider for being treated for a nonurgent health condition, except instead of video conferencing, all the patient has to do is fill out an evidence-based, dynamic symptom-specific questionnaire online while logged in to MyChart, and the provider will recommend a treatment plan and request prescriptions, if needed from your pharmacy.
eVisits are appropriate if you are suffering from things like cough, cold, urinary tract infections, diarrhea, red-eye, and sinus issues. Video visits are great options for many of those same conditions, along with earache, heartburn, rash, nausea, insect bites, and minor burns.
The cost to do an eVisit through MyChart is $30, and insurance is not billed.
The benefit to Baptist Health Virtual Care is individuals can take care of common ailments for themselves or their family members from the comfort of their own homes, while they are at work or on the go.
