Mini Roundabout construction begins Monday near Baptist Health Hardin
Hospital advises patients about access.
Elizabethtown, KY (March 31, 2023) – On Monday, April 3, the intersection of Woodland Drive, Layman Lane, and Hill Street, will close for three weeks for the construction of a mini roundabout. The mini roundabout, which will be located near Baptist Health Hardin, is one of ten roundabouts being constructed in Hardin County as part of the Roundabout Highway Safety Improvement Project.
All Baptist Health Hardin entrances will remain open during the construction. Patients visiting Baptist Health Medical Group Wound Care and Vascular Center and Diabetes Care are advised as such:
- Patients of the Wound Care and Vascular Center should access parking via Hill Street from Patriot Parkway.
- Patients of Diabetes Care should access parking from Layman Lane.
Road closures and detours
A detour will be in place for southbound traffic on Woodland Drive. Drivers traveling in this direction will be rerouted down Mercer Street to Oak Drive, where they should turn left onto Patriot Parkway (KY 361) and left onto Hill Street.
There is no through traffic or detour for Layman Lane, which will allow local traffic and access from Dixie Avenue only. The hospital’s North Tower parking lot will still be accessible from Layman Lane. Delivery trucks will also have an accessible route through Layman Lane.
Detour signs will assist drivers navigating around the intersection closure. Specific signs will direct access to the Wound Care and Vascular Center and Diabetes Care.
