Honor local organ, tissue and eye donors during Pause to Give Life observance at Baptist Health Paducah
Pause to Give Life observance on Monday, April 18, 2022 at 10 a.m.
Paducah, KY (April 14, 2022) – Baptist Health Paducah is honored to partner with Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates to celebrate National Donate Life Month with a Pause to Give Life observance on Monday, April 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. The community is invited to attend this celebration of life and remembrance.
The event will begin with a ceremonial honor walk from the hospital’s main entrance to the flag pole near Medical Park 1, to acknowledge those in our community who have selflessly given the gift of life. At 10:08 a.m., a simultaneous, statewide Donate Life flag will be raised to recognize how one donor can save eight lives. As a tribute to the 106,000 patients waiting for a life-saving transplant in the United States, a moment of silence will be held for one minute and 06 seconds.
Special guest speakers include Christina Ellegood, sister of Nicole Hadley, victim of the 1997 Heath High School tragedy; Michael Chumbler, father of Kam Chumbler, 2015 organ donor; and Vanessa Dallas, Family & Partnership Services Liaison with Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates.
This event raises the awareness of the need for registered organ donors, donors and families, honor living donors and families and increase donor registrations.
