Baptist Health Paducah laboratory earns accreditation

The clinical lab and pathology departments were re-accredited by the College of American Pathologists.

(Paducah, Ky.)  June 29, 2021 — Baptist Health Paducah clinical laboratory and pathology department has been re-accredited by the College of American Pathologists. 

The hospital lab has been accredited for nearly 50 years.

The most recent two-year accreditation follows an intensive on-site assessment and establishes that the level of technical and administrative performance meets or exceeds national standards.

“The CAP accreditation procedure is voluntary,” said Lorne Childress, laboratory director. “Baptist Health seeks CAP accreditation every two years because this program assists facilities around the world in achieving excellence by promoting a level of professional and technical expertise that contributes to quality performance and patient safety.”
