Baptist Health Home Care agency in Breckinridge County again makes ABILITY ‘Elite’ list

HARDINSBURG, KY. (Nov. 8, 2019) – For the third consecutive year, Baptist Health Home Care in Breckinridge County has been recognized as among the top 25% in the nation, named to the 2019 ABILITY HomeCare Elite® list.

Identified as HomeCare Elite were 2,207 agencies, including two others affiliated with Baptist Health – in Madisonville and New Albany, Ind. that were named Top Agencies.

Some 8,898 home care agencies were considered for the program administered by the ABILITY Network and sponsored by DecisionHealth, part of the H3 Group. HomeCare Elite uses public data to perform a comprehensive analysis of all home health care agencies and evaluate their overall performance. The program uses proprietary methods to identify the top 25 percent of all Medicare-certified home health care agencies, as well as the nation’s top 100 and top 500 agencies.

“It is quite an honor for a smaller agency such as ours in Breckinridge County to be singled out,” said Paul Crockett, Baptist Health’s vice president for home health. “This honor underscores what our patients already know -- that high quality home care can be found right in your hometown.”

“We’re pleased to recognize Baptist Health Home Care in Breckinridge County for exemplifying best practice in patient care,” said Christine Lang, senior director for ABILITY Network. “Baptist Health Home Care in Breckinridge County’s home health professionals have demonstrated exceptional commitment to care quality and the patient experience.”

”Congratulations to Baptist Health Home Care in Breckinridge County from all of the staff at DecisionHealth,” said Marci Geipe, product manager of DecisionHealth. “Your leadership and staff have placed a premium on patient care your agency provides, as showcased by your quality outcome scores. During November – national Home Care & Hospice Month – Baptist Health honors its experienced staff of nurses, therapists, social workers and home care aides who provide the care you need in the comfort of your home.

“Research has shown that recovery can be faster at home, particularly if there is a good quality skilled home health care available to the patient,” said Samantha Payne, director of Baptist Health Home Care Breckinridge. “In some cases, home care can be substituted for other forms of inpatient care, such as hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.”

Home healthcare may be covered by Medicare or Medicaid if the patient meets the qualifications for these programs. Private insurance, private pay, and worker’s compensation are other sources of coverage for home healthcare services.
