Farmer's Market to set up at Baptist Health Madisonville
(Madisonville, Ky.) Aug. 21, 2018 —The Hopkins County Farmer’s Market on Arch Street will set up weekly at Baptist Health Madisonville during the harvest season.
Many of the local Farmer’s Market vendors will set up in the garden area of the main hospital’s entrance every Thursday beginning Aug. 23. Times will alternate each week, starting with 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first week, followed by 2 to 6 p.m. the next week.
The market will be held rain or shine. Debit/credit cards and cash are accepted. Customers should park in the main hospital lot, not in the front circle that is reserved for discharged patients who are being picked-up.
“We want to encourage wellness and healthy behaviors for employees and their families through easier access to fresh, nutritious food options,” said hospital dietitian Lori Spraggs. “We hope to provide healthy recipes and information about canning and freezing. This is a win-win for us. It helps our employees and allows them to support local vendors.”
