Baptist Health Sports Medicine Sponsoring Free
Baptist Health Sports Medicine is hosting a free seminar Monday, July 31 that will give youth female athletes the information they need to improve performance, stay healthy and prevent injuries. The seminar will be held at Baptist Health Performance Training located at 12101 Sycamore Station Place. Dinner will be provided by Whole Foods at 5 p.m. with the first speaker to start at 6 p.m.

The theme for this year’s event is the 24 Hour Athlete and will focus on all aspects of being healthy. Experts will discuss nutrition and fueling, the menstrual cycle in the female athlete, and the importance of positive self-talk. Breakout sessions include a panel discussion with experts for parents, injury prevention and more. Former University of Louisville volleyball player Katie George will be the emcee for the evening and will also share her experiences as a college athlete.
Speakers include: Dietitian for the Cincinnati Bengals Emily Ludwig, MS, RD, LD; Baptist Health Medical Group OB/GYN Danielle Mann, DO; and Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Media Psychologist Kevin Chapman, Ph.D. Breakout sessions will include the three speakers as well as Orthopedic Surgeon Kittie George, MD; Gwen Crawford, PT; and Eric Hammer, Performance Training Manager.
